Flights to Labuan Bajo land at Komodo Airport (LBJ), which Wikipedia's November 2026 list shows linked to Denpasar, Jakarta, Lombok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, among others. For a four-day boat, Hello Flores, an operator, says to add an extra day for travel. Routes change, so confirm each one with the airline before you book.

Which airport serves Komodo?

Komodo Airport, code LBJ, serves Labuan Bajo. Wikipedia records that it gained international status on 2 April 2024. If you see "flights to LBJ" and "flights to Komodo" in a search, they mean the same place: there is no separate airfield for the islands in any source we cite, and the boat trip begins from Labuan Bajo.

Which cities have flights to Labuan Bajo?

This table reflects Wikipedia's route list as checked in November 2026. It is a snapshot from an encyclopedia and not an airline schedule. Carriers add and drop routes, some of them seasonally, so use it to know which airlines to check and confirm with them.

From Singapore, Hello Flores also mentions direct flights, which agrees with the list. Readers arriving from elsewhere will usually connect, and Denpasar and Jakarta are the two obvious places to do it. We make no claim about how often any route runs or which airline suits you; frequency is exactly what the airline's own schedule will show for your dates.

If you do connect, ask the airline what happens to a missed onward leg, and ask the seller what happens if you reach the harbour after a boat with a fixed start has gone.

How long is the flight from Bali?

About an hour, or a little more, depending on who you ask. Labuan Bajo Tourism, an operator, says the Denpasar flight takes about an hour. A Passion and a Passport, a travel blog, says 1 hour 15 minutes. Airline timetables will give the scheduled block time for your flight, and that is the number to plan with. For cost, the price table on this page carries one operator's 2026 ballpark for the Bali leg each way, an estimate and not a quote. If Bali is your starting point, the Komodo 4-day trip from Bali page deals with the timing as a whole.

Can you fly from Lombok?

Yes, according to both sources that address it. Wikipedia lists Wings Air to Lombok, and Asik Travel, an operator, says Wings Air flies Praya to Labuan Bajo nonstop in seventy-five minutes. That gives you an alternative to the boat crossing, and a way to fly one leg and sail the other if a route allows it. Compare that option with the sea route on Lombok to Komodo in 4 days and 3 nights.

Should you fly in the day your boat leaves?

Hello Flores, an operator with its own trips to sell, says to add an extra day for travel, and A Passion and a Passport describes a night in town first. That gives you margin against a late inbound flight, since a boat on a schedule may not wait for one late guest. Ask yours whether it would.

Work out your own margin from these questions:

  1. What is the latest time the boat will accept guests on day one, and where exactly do you board?
  2. Is a transfer from the airport included, and who meets you if the flight is late?
  3. What is the operator's rule, in writing, if you miss departure? Can you join later, and at whose cost?
  4. Does your flight reach LBJ with a real cushion even if it leaves late?
  5. At what hour does the boat return on day four, and how firm is that hour?
  6. Does your travel insurance cover missed departures, and on what terms?

The return leg needs the same thought. Boat plans can shift with conditions, and a boat that gets back later than planned can cost you a flight. A same-day onward flight on day four works only if you know the return time and are comfortable with what happens when it slips. For how early to reach Komodo Airport, use your airline's check-in rule.

A night in town on either side also gives you time to buy anything you forgot. More on those nights is on Labuan Bajo before a Komodo boat trip.

What can disrupt flights?

A volcanic eruption and an earthquake both appear in the airport's recent record. Wikipedia records a ten-day shutdown, 9 to 19 November 2024, caused by the Mount Lewotobi eruption. Jakarta Globe's report after the August 2026 earthquake had the airport still open, with its schedule adjusted. That report is from August, so check the current position with your airline. The state of things on land and at sea is covered on Komodo after the 2026 earthquake.

A closure like the 2024 one would cost you the whole trip, since it outlasted any four-day boat. Before you pay, read what your boat contract and your insurance say about an airport closure. Check whether your fare allows a date change as well, and whether the park ticket can follow you to new dates. We do not cover ferry schedules, so ask the ferry company if you plan to use one as a fallback.

How do I reach the desk?

We do not sell flights. Once your flights or your dates are fixed, send them to WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875 or email us, and the desk can ask whether a boat's hours fit them. A boat's hours are confirmed by a written offer, and a chat message does not do that. We benefit commercially if a request becomes a booking.
