A Komodo 4D3N itinerary spends three nights on a boat and links Padar, Pink Beach, a dragon stop, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Those stops recur in all three published plans compared here, yet the order differs by operator, and Maika Dive, for one, says its captain may change the route.

What does a typical Komodo 4D3N itinerary look like?

The closest thing to a typical plan is the overlap between what operators publish. This page sets three of them side by side: Maika Dive, which prints a dive routine with snorkel variations; Komodo Boat Tour, which describes a snorkel-led route; and Hello Flores, which offers a sample. Each schedule belongs to the company that published it. We do not set any of them, and nothing here is a trip plan of ours. If the format itself is new to you, start with our Komodo 4D3N overview and come back to these plans.

Komodo Boat TourRoute given as one list, not split by day in its published route: Kelor, Manjarite, Kalong, Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, then a last stop at Kanawa or Sebayur

Every version includes Padar, Pink Beach and a dragon stop, though Hello Flores writes only "dragons" and does not name the island in its sample. Taka Makassar and Manta Point appear in all three, with the caveat that Maika Dive sends snorkellers to Taka Makassar as one of two options.

How do published day-by-day plans differ?

The differences matter more than the overlap if one stop is the reason you are going. This second table reads the same plans by stop.

Three gaps stand out. Maika Dive gives day two to Crystal Rock, Castle Rock and The Cauldron, which the other two plans leave out, so its logic is a diver's; the guide to 4D3N routes follows that split further. Kalong and Manjarite appear on the other two plans and not on Maika's. And Manta Point moves from the first day on Hello Flores to the last day on Maika Dive, which matters if you are planning around manta rays on a 4-day trip.

Treat claims about what a fourth day "adds" with some care, for the reasons set out on what the extra day adds.

What happens on day one?

Seek Sophie, a booking agency, says it takes a couple of hours by boat from Labuan Bajo to reach the park, which helps explain why first-day stops vary so much. On a Komodo 4D3N, day 1 can mean quite different things. Maika Dive's routine runs Sebayur Kecil, then Tatawa Besar, then a night dive at Crystal Bay. Hello Flores opens with Siaba Besar or Sebayur, then Taka Makassar and Manta Point.

Komodo Boat Tour's list opens with Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong. Hello Flores places Kalong on its third day instead. If a Kalong Island stop at dusk is what you want, ask either operator how the timing works, because Wikivoyage says flying foxes can be seen at dusk on the way back by sea. Since January 2026 the Labuan Bajo harbourmaster has banned tourist boats from sailing at night in park waters and required them to anchor after dark, so ask where the boat stops for the night after a dusk visit.

What happens on days two and three?

Both day-by-day plans put Padar, Pink Beach and the dragon stop somewhere in these two days, and they do not agree on which. On Hello Flores, day 2 is Padar at sunrise, then Pink Beach and dragons, while day 3 turns to Manjarite, Gili Lawa Darat and Kalong. Maika Dive reverses the emphasis. Its day 2 belongs to dive sites, with a Gili Lawa hike and Crystal Bay for snorkellers, and its day 3 stacks the Padar hike, the Komodo Island trek, Pink Beach and Mawan into one day.

Neither day-by-day plan puts the Padar hike or the dragon walk on the first or last day. That is useful when you compare offers: a seller who moves either one to the edge of the trip is working from a different plan, so ask why. Sunrise timing has its own trade-offs, covered in the page on Padar at sunrise on a 4-day trip.

What does the last day look like?

It depends on who wrote the plan. Maika Dive keeps working until the end, with Siaba Besar, then Batu Bolong or Taka Makassar for snorkellers, then Manta Point. Hello Flores closes with Kanawa and Kelor. Komodo Boat Tour ends at Kanawa or Sebayur.

None of these plans gives a return time, and that is the detail to pin down before you book an onward seat. Get the expected return to the harbour in writing, then read the page on flights to Labuan Bajo before choosing a departure. If you have spare hours afterwards, the guide to Labuan Bajo before and after a boat trip covers the town.

Why can the plan change on the water?

Because operators say so in their own terms. On its three-day page, Maika Dive says the captain may adjust routes, delay departure or reschedule, and choose other sites if current or wind is strong. Hello Flores says Siaba Besar, Taka Makassar and Manta Point depend on dry-season and calm tide conditions. All three appear in the tables above, so a plan built around them is a statement of intent.

Accident reports show why conditions after dark get attention, and the page on boat safety has the record, including the two accounts of how KM Putri Sakinah sank.

Questions that turn any published schedule into something you can check:

  • Which stops are firm, and which depend on tide or season?
  • What replaces a missed stop, and who decides?
  • Where does the boat anchor on each of the three nights?
  • Is this the diver's plan or the snorkeller's plan?
  • What time is the boat expected back on day four?

If a seller sends a Komodo 4D3N itinerary PDF, check the date and boat name on it, since a generic schedule tells you little about your own departure.

Stops are only half of a comparison. Price them on Komodo 4D3N cost, check the vessel on Komodo 4D3N boat types, and decide who shares it on shared or private Komodo boat. Divers should also read the Komodo 4-day dive trip.

What time does a Komodo 4D3N leave and get back?

No source here publishes hours for a 4D3N, so ask for both. Seek Sophie says most of its three-day boats collect guests at 9am and sail at 10am, returning by late morning or early afternoon on the last day. That is a three-day pattern, not a 4D3N one. Travellers report less tidy days on the Lombok route: Wandering Nomada was collected hours late, and Leigh Turner, describing a January 2023 trip, before the night sailing order, reports a late start and arrival in Labuan Bajo around 22:30 on day four. So ask for the pick-up time, the sailing time and the planned return hour in writing, and keep a margin before any flight.

What else do people ask about a Komodo 4D3N itinerary?

What does a Komodo 4D3N itinerary look like?

Three published plans share Padar, Pink Beach, a dragon stop, Taka Makassar and Manta Point, and differ on the order. Maika Dive adds dive sites such as Castle Rock. Hello Flores and Komodo Boat Tour include Kalong and Manjarite.

What happens on day one of a Komodo 4D3N?

Maika Dive publishes Sebayur Kecil, Tatawa Besar and a Crystal Bay night dive. Hello Flores publishes Siaba Besar or Sebayur, then Taka Makassar and Manta Point.

Why can a Komodo itinerary change?

Maika Dive says its captain may adjust routes or delay departure if current or wind is strong, and Hello Flores says some stops depend on dry-season and calm tide conditions. A published order is an intention and not a promise of any stop.

How do you plan a Komodo 4D3N?

Decide which stop or activity matters most, compare where each plan places it, then ask the seller for that departure's written schedule, boat name, night anchorages and return time. Book onward travel only once you have the return time.

What is there to do in Komodo over four days?

Published plans mix a dragon stop, the Padar hike, snorkelling or diving at sites such as Manta Point and Taka Makassar, beach stops such as Pink Beach, and on some routes Kalong, known for flying foxes.
